There are few things better in life than a balmy, tranquil summer night in Wisconsin. In July, the sun doesn’t set until late and everything seems to slow down, becoming serene and simple. But, these summer nights don’t come easy!
In the days leading up to Mae and Max’s small farm wedding, the state was in the middle of a heat wave, with heat indexes in the 100°Fs. Hours before the wedding, strong winds picked up and a tornado warning was issued in two nearby counties. But, perhaps with a little luck and wedding day magic, the weather cleared, and the day culminated into a peaceful evening with the most beautiful sunset.
Mae and Max opted for a small, intimate wedding. Close family and friends gathered to celebrate with them on Mae’s family farm. She prepped for her wedding day in her childhood bedroom, occasionally taking a peek out the window to watch guests arrive.

During the ceremony, Mae and Max’s family planted a tree with dirt from their home states. So perfect for this nature-loving couple (if you missed it, be sure to check out their adventurous, rock-climbing engagement session!).
