Recently, the folks over at Greenvelope got in touch with us and asked us to try their invitations out.
(We’re guessing they read 11 Super Easy Eco-Friendly Wedding Ideas and discovered how crazy we are about making our weddings more environmentally-friendly!)
Greenvelope specializes in eco-friendly wedding invitations. In fact, these invites are so eco-friendly that they don’t require paper at all! They’re totally digital!
Now, as much as we love trying to save our planet one small step at a time, we also can’t help but love the richness and luxe feeling that comes with a beautiful physical invitation. There’s just something about holding that piece of paper in your hands that feels so good!
So, we didn’t expect to be very impressed or thrilled by digital wedding invitations.
In fact, we expected them to be kinda ugly.
Boy, were we wrong.

Eco-Friendly Wedding Invites For Outdoorsy Brides
Greenvelope has put so much thought and care into the design of their eco-friendly wedding invitations. We’re literally in love with every invitation suite design they offer.
There are over 400 wedding designs to choose from, ranging from classic to modern, romantic to minimalist. There’s a little something for everyone!
With subtle color palettes and natural textures, we found so many invitation designs that are perfect for brides and grooms who love the outdoors. Greenvelope even partnered with the National Park Foundation and currently offer over 30 suites inspired by parks like Joshua Tree, Glacier, Acadia, and more!
The Design Process
You start by simply choosing the base design you want, and then you’re able to customize it to your heart’s content! Some designs have various color palette options, or you can request the design team at Greenvelope make you a version with your custom colors for just a little bit extra.
In the design editor, you’re able to choose from a variety of handwritten, script, serif, and sans-serif fonts. You can also change the color of the text to whatever you want.
Envelopes are super fun to design, too! You can choose your desired color, select your stamp design, and pick out a solid color, metallic shimmer, or pattern for the envelope liner. (Oh, and you can even add a seal!)
We had such a blast testing out Greenvelope! I think we spent an entire day playing around in the editor, creating our own personalized invitation suites. We had fun mixing and matching some of the items to create our own customized invitation suites. Here are some of our favorite creations!
Ombre Forest Wedding Suite

This paperless wedding invitation suite is absolutely perfect for a northwoods wedding! The ombre tree background is minimalist simplicity at its finest, and you can choose between green or slate blue (shown). A plaid envelope liner in a contrasting color makes this design feel even more rustic and outdoorsy. (And also…who doesn’t love plaid?!)
For the save-the-date, we chose a Polaroid-style design with a custom photo and fonts to match the other pieces. So fun!
Foil Pine Needles Wedding Invitation Suite

How perfect is this invitation for a late fall or winter wedding?! The pine needle design in rose gold foil is sooooo luxurious. We love it paired with a dark green envelope to give off even stronger pine-covered forest vibes!
Photo save-the-dates are our jam, so we paired the “Foil Pine Needles” invitation and thank-you note with the “Vertical Love” save-the-date design. It works so well with the other pieces and feels like a cohesive suite!
Acadia Wedding Invitation Suite

This is one of the National Park designs offered by Greenvelope. This one is inspired by Maine’s Acadia National Park and features a calming hand-painted design. It gently reminds us of a tranquil coastline and exploring the shore.
Also: check out the envelope! Greenvelope gives you the option to add a seal to the back of each envelope. You can choose from several different design options, and the “wax” comes in a variety of metallic-textured colors. Seriously, they paid attention to every detail!
Touch of Adventure Wedding Invitation Suite

This design is simplicity at its finest. The invitation features a subtle topographic-map inspired illustration, giving it that perfect “touch of adventure.” The invitation has a spot to provide the longitute and latitude of your wedding venue, which is so fun and clever!
Around here we have a motto: never say “no” to gold foil. So of course, we rolled with it here, adding in a foil envelope liner. We also decided to use a save-the-date from another collection called “Romantic Stems” to add in even more of that gold.
Starry Night Sky Wedding Invitation Suite

Greenvelope’s “Starry Night” invitation suite is one of our favorites. This is perfect for those of you brides and grooms who are into astronomy!
The “Starry Night” design comes in three different color options. It was incredibly difficult to choose one, but ultimately we selected the green version. We also grabbed a photo save-the-date design from the “Gold Shimmer” collection that we felt worked well with the astronomy-themed invitation design!
We <3 Paperless Wedding Invitations
Greenvelope was founded with the mission to create digital invites that provide the elegance of traditional stationery, but without any of the waste. We’ve gotta say, they are totally hitting the nail on the head. We are so impressed by all of the designs and customization options.
But, we know it’s not just about the design. Features are important too. Luckily, Greenvelope has those covered as well, offering built-in RSVP tracking, survey questions, gift registries, mapping functionality, messaging, and more.
They also offer invitations for more than just weddings: you can use this service to send invites for birthdays, baby showers, graduations, baptisms…you name it, they probably have an invitation for it.
We totally recommend giving eco-friendly, paperless invites a try. You can sign up and start a free trial today by visiting the Greenvelope website.
