This gorgeous Lake Superior elopement styled shoot was dreamed up by Andi Jo Photography: “with COVID-19 changing bride and grooms’ wedding plans left and right, I wanted to give couples inspiration for what their wedding day could look like.”
Andi says, “this is the time to let your creativity shine. Pick a destination you have always dreamed of; find a forest, a beach, a mountain. You name it! One of my dreams came true when I was able to photography an amazing styled elopement at Black Beach in Silvery Bay, Minnesota up the North Shore. I have always loved this part of Minnesota. It almost makes you feel as if you have been transported some place only told of in storybooks.”
Natural but sophisticated was the name of the game here, with neutral details that enhanced the couple’s natural features. The bride’s loose braid provided just the right amount of beachy vibes!

About The Look
The black sand, rocky cliffs, and cool water makes this location very rugged. Even though there are beaches, northern Minnesota is far from Hawaii or Cabo, so a tropical vibe would feel totally inappropriate here! Instead, the creatives behind this elopement design opted for more natural tones, blending boho elements with more glamorous rose gold touches.
The design for the ceremony area was extra tranquil, allowing all eyes to be on the bride and groom as they said their “I do”s. Natural and neutral floral arrangements perfectly accented both the couple and some of the more bolder elements incorporated into the design.

Why is the sand at Black Beach black? It is not a natural occurrence, but rather the result of taconite washing ashore.
About The Cake
The light pink, three-tiered cake was coated with a graham cracker crumble. It was topped off with a cascading floral piece to go along with the centerpiece and bridal bouquet.
