What personal data we collect and why we collect it
When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
If you fill out a contact form on our website, the information you provide us with such as name, email address, message, etc. will be collected from you. This information is transmitted via our server and is stored in our Google Gmail inbox. We use this information to respond to your request.
If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
To better serve our website visitors, we use Google Analytics to track and analyze website visits and visitor usage. Google Analytics tracks your visit using a unique User ID to record user flow, language, browser and operating system, device, and internet service provider. We may analyze this information in bulk to improve our services. User IP addresses, which are considered by some to be a form of personal data, are collected but anonymized.
We use a email marketing service to collect your name and email address. Joining this mailing list is totally optional and you can unsubscribe at anytime by clicking the link at the bottom of the email.
Who we share your data with
Visitors have the option to share each page or post through various social media platforms by clicking the applicable share button:
Any data you submit to our website is transmitted and/or stored on our web server with SiteGround.
If you join our newsletter, your name and email will be stored with our email marketing service provider, Mailchimp. You can contact Mailchimp if you would like your data removed from their server.
How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
If you contact us via a contact form on our website, we store the email in our inbox for as long as needed to serve you.
What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
Where we send your data
