We love love love when a couple’s engagement photos perfectly represent them. Max got Mae into rock climbing, so for their engagement session, they took to Devil’s Lake State Park for an adventurous photo shoot.

Engagement Photoshoot at Devil’s Lake near Baraboo, Wisconsin
In the words of the photographer, “much like relationships, rock climbing is an activity of trust, laying a good foundation, and just having fun.”
We agree wholeheartedly!

Devil’s Lake State Park served as the perfect backdrop for these rock climbing engagement photos!
The park, which is the largest state park in Wisconsin, is located just a bit south of Baraboo. The bluffs surrounding the lake are what’s left of the eroded Baraboo Range, a 1.6 billion year old mountain system that was once taller than the Rocky Mountains.
The area’s unique geology is what makes it so spectacular for rock climbing. Baraboo Hills are composed mostly of granite and quartzite, which provides climbers with a solid & sturdy climbing surface.
The park has climbs at varying levels of difficulties, along with biking and hiking trails. (And of course, some great photo ops!)
Congratulations to Mae and Max on their engagement!
