Adventurous engagement and couples shoots are one of our favorite things in the whole entire world.
So naturally, an adventurous engagement shoot with a waterfall in the background is something we’re all about.
Natalie and Trevor celebrated their love with this Willow Falls engagement shoot. The location was entirely fitting, as the couple loves to spend time outside together. (Trevor even proposed while the two were hiking!)

Natalie & Trevor’s Willow Falls Engagement Session
A little background on the backdrop for these photos: Willow Falls is situated in Willow River State Park, located in the westernmost part of Wisconsin.
It’s just a short hike to the gorgeous falls.
Photographer Brianna Lane says shew knew Willow River “would be the perfect spot for their adventurous hearts.”

These two dated in high school, but went their own separate ways after graduation.
After college, when the timing was juuuuuust right, they were brought together again — and this time, it looks like it’s for keeps!

Willow River is one of the most visited state parks in Wisconsin, thanks to its close proximity to the Minneapolis/St. Paul metro area.
Santee Sioux and Ojibwe tribes were the original inhabitants of this region. European settlers moved in at the beginning of the 19th century and began farming and logging.
Later, hydroelectric power plants and dams were built on the river, providing electricity to the nearby town of Hudson. After a damaging lightning strike to one of the plants, the land was sold and turned into a state park in the late 1960s.
Today, guests to the park can enjoy boating, camping, swimming, fishing, rock climbing, hiking, and–of course!–photography! 🙂
Congratulations Natalie & Trevor…we can’t wait to see the wedding photos!
