Vineyards make the perfect wedding venue. I mean, who doesn’t love being surrounded by beautiful, lush landscapes, rustic oak barrels, and–of course–endless amounts of wine?! The best news? You don’t have to travel to Italy, Napa, or France for a vineyard wedding experience. The Midwest is home to countless notable wineries that we think make the perfect wedding venue. And there’s a little something for everyone, since they come in a variety of shapes, sizes, and styles.
We love these Minnesota winery wedding venues because they are so versatile. Whether you’re looking for a little slice of Tuscany or prefer ultra-modern architecture, there’s a vineyard for you. Most of these spaces are very neutral, allowing you to really make the space your own by adding in your own decor and colors.

A Rustic Country Wedding at Rum River Barn & Vineyard
Hillman, Minnesota | rumriverbarn.com
Photos: Cameron & Tia Photography
Rum River Barn & Vineyard definitely brings that country aesthetic to the table, including two barns to choose from! The White Barn is the main event area, and it consists of a large loft with a lounge below. There is also a simple rustic open timber frame barn, situated in the middle of a grassy field. But we especially love the Bridal Room: the little house was the original homestead of the property years ago. It’s surrounded by a private courtyard, so y’all can get outside and enjoy nature before you head down the aisle. There’s even a campground on site…yes, this one really does have it all! With grapevines as a backdrop, this location is the perfect spot for you and your loved ones to enjoy your big day.
Bonus: Rum River Barn & Vineyard is one of the Minnesota winery wedding venues that accommodates winter weddings in addition to summer!
The Best Lake Views at WineHaven Winery & Vineyard
Chisago City, Minnesota | winehaven.com

This gorgeous property has been in the family for four generations and let me tell you, she’s a beauty. WineHaven’s 50 acres are bordered by not one, not two, but THREE lakes, and the sloping hillsides give you and your guests the perfect vantage point. For your ceremony, you get to choose between four locations. Looking to say “I do” in a beautiful garden with a little touch of Tuscany? Deer Garden Hilltop sounds like a great fit for you! Grapewinds Vineyard is a more secluded location, wedged in between grapevines, a pond, a forest, AND a historic railroad bed built in the 1800s.
If you’re more of an indoors type of gal (or if the weather gets bad, because let’s face it, it’s Minnesota and rain, sleet, and even snow can happen, even in the middle of July), Vintner’s Hall is available and with a backdrop of oak wine barrels, vineyard views, and lake views, it’s just as picturesque as any outdoors location. There is also an alternative indoor location, a ballroom on the second floor, with hardwood floors and those same picture-perfect views.
Modern Architecture at Four Daughters Vineyard & Winery
Spring Valley, MN | fourdaughtersvineyard.com
Photos from Four Daughters website
Located in southeastern Minnesota, Four Daughters Vineyard brings more than just a touch of that modern aesthetic to the table. Careful detail was paid attention to in the design of this building. The clean lines play off of the rural landscape for a completely unique look; you’ll feel like you’re in Sonoma! Exchange your vows in the midst of their 6 acre vineyard, encompassed by trellised grapes and open skies for days. For your reception, you and your guests can enjoy the open and airy building, celebrating with wine, hard cider, custom cocktails, and eats prepared by their on-site chefs.
Get Your Princess On At Chateau St. Croix Winery
St. Croix, Wisconsin | chateaustcroix.com
Photos: Laura Alpizar Photography
This Minnesota winery wedding venue is technically in Wisconsin, but since it’s only a ten minute drive from the Minnesota-Wisconsin border, we’ve included it on this list! Chateau St. Croix is just as fancy as the time sounds and is all about timeless elegance. If you’re looking for something totally classic, this one if for you. You can even roll up to your ceremony in a horse drawn carriage! The winery got its inspiration from a 17th Century Chateau (a chateau is a large French country house or castle, in case you need to brush up on your French lessons). Outdoor events can be held at a perfect spot: right under a century old elm tree, or in the middle of a formal garden at the front of the winery. The indoor classic ballroom is perfect for more intimate events, and it features glass chandeliers, marble floors, and a fireplace.
Modern Simplicity at Crow River Winery
Hutchinson, MN | crowriverwinery.com
Photos: A Sister Collaborative
Crow River Winery is situated just a bit outside of the Twin Cities metro area and is a wonderful mix of foliage and wide open land (and grapevines galore, of course!). Ceremonies can be held in the garden courtyard, which offers a natural landscape for you and yours to say your vows. For your reception, choose from either The Great Hall (if your guest list is on the larger side) or Box Elder Hall (if your event is more intimate). Both of these are elegant, modern, and ready for your celebration.
Worry-Free Wedding Day at Carlos Creek Winery
Alexandria, MN | carloscreekwinery.com

Carlos Creek Winery specializes in wedding ceremonies and receptions (and wine too, of course), so they offer inclusive packages so you have less things to worry about. The pesky details, like reception security and transportation for your guests, is taken care of for you. Oh, and it’s picturesque AF. You’ve got 160 acres to explore–yes, 160 ACRES–with seven–yes, SEVEN–different outdoor venues that can be utilized. But don’t worry: this is one of the Minnesota winery wedding venues that will provide you with your very own golf cart. You can explore as much as you want and still have energy for dancing later!
Wedded Bliss At Chankaska Winery
Kasota, MN | chankaskawines.com
Photos: Terra Sura Photography
This is one of our Minnesota winery wedding venues located in the southern part of the state. The location features a lush, beautiful landscape with a creek nearby. Chankaska gives you options galore. For the ceremony, choose from Creekside or Forest. Creekside is–you guessed it!–located on the bank of a creek, with a natural aisle and birch wood arbor. The forest location features a two-tiered site with a woodsy backdrop.
When you’re ready to party, you get two more options: Creekside or the Event Center. Creekside has a massive tent with cathedral windows and vaulted ceilings, and it can be cooled or heated depending on the season. The Event Center is more formal, with chandeliers and exposed wooden beams. If you choose the Event Center, you also get access to the unique bridal and grooms suite.
Small Town Charm At Cannon River Winery
Cannon Falls, Minnesota | cannonriverwinery.com
Photos: Kristen Dyer
The Cannon River winery is located right in between St. Paul and Rochester, in the heart of the rolling hills of the Sogn Valley. It’s the perfect mix of small town charm + rugged elegance. The winery has some fun history: the main building was built in 1918, and one of the spaces was once used as a town hall and roller rink (weird combination, right?). If that doesn’t impress you, how about saying your vows in a 150 year old timber frame barn? The bridal suite is on the main level of the main building and according to the people at Cannon River Winery, the aroma of wine fills the air. Who can say no to that?
Other Faves:
